The Warriors have Harrison Barnes to a rookie contract, according to a report from the Associated Press. Taken seventh overall in last Thursday's draft, Barnes is expected to battle Dorell Wright for the team's starting small forward position. He will also compete on Golden State's summer league team. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

6:56PM: The Rockets have withdrawn their qualifying offer to shooting guard Courtney Lee, making him an unrestricted free agent, tweets ESPN.com's Marc Stein. The team previously had the right to match any offers for Lee's services.
Jason Kidd To Decide Between Mavs, Knicks
On the heels of Deron Williams' decision to re-sign with the Nets, Jason Kidd will not follow him there, tweets ESPN.com's Ric Bucher.
Bucher reported earlier this week that Kidd's desire was to become Williams' backup in either Dallas or Brooklyn, depending on where it was the star point guard chose to play.

5:43PM: In a tweet from Hoopsworld.com's Alex Kennedy, Houston may make a three-year "poison pill" offer to Jeremy Lin that pays Lin $5MM, $5.2MM and $13.8MM. The move would be similar to what the Rockets did earlier this week with restricted free agent Omer Asik.
1:51PM: Restricted free agent Jeremy Lin will visit the Rockets tomorrow, tweets ESPN.com's Chris Broussard. The meeting is yet another indication that Houston is increasingly pessimistic about bringing back Goran Dragic. The Rockets are expected to offer a contract similar to the one Dragic turned down, tweets Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.
Kennedy On Paul, Williams, Beasley, Ebanks
Despite turning down a three-year, $60MM offer from the Clippers when free agency started, Chris Paul is acting like someone who plans on staying in Los Angeles for a long time, writes Hoopsworld.com reporter Alex Kennedy. Paul has been working the phones and setting up face to face meetings with free agents, selling them on joining him for a chance at winning multiple championships. Paul is eligible after the 2012/13 season to sign a five-year, $110MM contract should the Clippers offer it.

4:43pm: The Magic haven't ruled out trading Howard to the Nets, and continue to talk to the Lakers, tweets Ken Berger of CBSSports.com.
12:54pm: The Lakers are prepared to offer Bynum and Metta World Peace in exchange for Howard, providing Dwight agrees to sign an extension, tweets Jarrod Rudolph of RealGM.com. Based on Wojnarowski's report, I'd be a little surprised if Orlando agreed to that deal. Plus, it would hinge on both big men agreeing to sign new contracts.
The Magic would include Jason Richardson in any Howard deal, Rudolph adds in a second tweet.
Blazers Nearing Buyout With Shawne Williams
The Trail Blazers are nearing an agreement to buy out Shawne Williams' contract, tweets SI.com's Sam Amick. Williams, who was traded to Portland earlier this year, exercised his player option worth $3.135MM, which keeps him under contract for one more years with the Blazers.
If the Blazers and Williams agree on a buyout, the team will have the opportunity to spread the cap hit for the deal over the next three seasons under the NBA's stretch provision. An agreement would likely give Portland a couple million more dollars to work with in free agency.
Nets Maintain Interest In Ersan Ilyasova
The Nets still have interest in pursuing Ersan Ilyasova if they're unable to acquire Dwight Howard from the Magic, tweets Fred Kerber of the New York Post. Peter Vecsey of the New York Post first tweeted that Brooklyn would target a sign-and-trade deal for Ilyasova if Howard was unobtainable.
Celtics Close To Three-Year Deal With Jason Terry
