February 23: The Kings have officially signed Hayes, Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee tweets.
February 22: The Kings plan to sign free agent guard Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract, reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (via Twitter).
Detroit selected Hayes with the seventh overall pick in the 2020 draft, but he struggled with offensive efficiency during his Pistons tenure and the team waived him in February 2024.
Still just 24 years old, Hayes has largely been out of the NBA for the past two seasons. He spent most of last season in the G League with Brooklyn’s G League affiliate in Long Island, averaging 17.3 points, 7.4 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals on .463/.371/.689 shooting in 33 games (32.9 minutes per contest).
Hayes, who played six games with the Nets in 2024/25 on a 10-day contract, signed an Exhibit 10 training camp deal with the Cavaliers in the fall to secure a bonus for playing for their affiliate team, the Cleveland Charge. Through 28 games with the Charge this season, Hayes is averaging 23.1 PPG, 8.3 APG, 3.9 RPG and 1.7 SPG on .468/.325/.800 shooting.
The Kings have an opening on their standard roster, which means they won’t need to waive anyone to sign Hayes. As a five-year veteran, Hayes will earn $153,330 over the course of his 10 days with Sacramento, while the Kings will carry a cap charge of $131,970.

Get the bag, stay on an NBA team.
Why not ……

How many times a game does Luka get away with walking. You can’t move your pivot foot. Luja dies it AlL the time. He will stop and pivot a few times. Then step back off his OTHER foot. That’s a Walk. Once you establish your pivot foot. You can’t lift that foot. Or it’s a walk. Guy gets phantom calls, walks all the time.
Contact my Aaaaaaaaaa
Luka threw himself on the floor. Then cried for help.
Dgaf about playing D …..such a DIVA.
Can’t stand the guy either …… natural scorer but whines, cries way too much, doesn’t even play matador defense – matador’s move, Luka just doesn’t.
This is a Killian Hayes thread and Kevin O’Connor spent a whole podcast then, making a case for Hayes as the no.1 pick back in ’20 draft. lol
Luka is a diva. I could never play with him. Players must hate putting up with his shhhh. He’s beyond entitled lol.
I liked Hayes size. He was left dominant before. What I saw is he needs coaching. He should have stayed in G-league learning. Or in Europe. He wasn’t ready for NBA. Guys get drafted on potential. But they don’t give them coaching. Just give up on them. Perfect example of a player who needed 4 yrs of college ball lol.
Indeed he had size, but he had one of the biggest red flags a young guard could ever have – an erratic shot, erratic shooting. ….. a lefty, no less.
Yup, could have used a few more years of college/coaching ….. not only his shot, he looked lost on offense, erratic playmaking.
He was athletic and a big guard. You can teach shooting. At least serviceable. He was 80% on FT. He lost his confidence. When that happens. You start trying too hard. He has the tools to be at least a backup. Play D and rebound. This is my issue with 18-19 yr olds. Why are you drafting them. If you are not committed to making them better.
Not saying he never travels but what you described is not a travel. Allowed to lift your pivot as long as you release the ball before it lands again.
No not true. If you pivot on left foot. Then you can’t switch pivot foots. Its a walk. What Luka does a lot. Is he stops and jabs in with his leg. so if he is moving his right leg. Then his pivot foot is his left foot. Now he moves his right leg in and out.then steps back and jumos off his right leg. Which neabs he took a step back by switching pivot foots. A lot of nba pkayers do this. But ge does ut sliw and more than mist. He doesn’t need the help. Its a walk. He is switching pivot foots. That’s a walk. If steps vack with right foot and lifts if both feet. It is not a walk. But he steps back on other foot. Therefore stepping back and switching pivot foots. Its a walk.
Now if he just stops and Not pivot. Just stop and then steps back on back foot. Then its ok. But once you pivot. You establish your pivot foot. And you can’t switch pivot foots. Its a walk.
Yeah wtf does this have to do with the Killian Hayes Al?
He just took a charge and was shuffling his feet. Why are we helping this guy. He doesn’t wven run back on defense.
Those two arm pushes by Celtics lols ….. wow
We all saw it ..
Good
hope he can finally put it all together, best of luck
Hayes was born in Florida….
