Warriors guard Damion Lee‘s roster spot is safe, ensuring he’ll receive a $500K partial guarantee, Anthony Slater of The Athletic tweets.
Lee needed to remain on the roster through this weekend to receive the guarantee. The remainder of his $1.91MM contract for next season remains non-guaranteed, though the team views him as one of the 14 players with a guaranteed roster spot entering next season. The final roster opening will likely be determined in a training camp battle, Slater adds.
Lee, who will be an unrestricted free agent next summer, has appeared in 153 games during his four-year career, mainly with Golden State. He came off the bench in all but one of 57 appearances last season, averaging 6.5 PPG and 3.2 RPG in 18.9 MPG. He also shot a healthy 39.7% from 3-point range.
So its Mulder vs GP2 for the final spot. Payton superior in every way, gotta go with him.
So true. We need Payton’s OTB defense more than Mulder’s 3-point shooting. We have Klay, Moody, Poole, and Lee all ahead of Mulder in the 3-point shooter role/Pecking order. Meanwhile Payton provides much needed toughness and D that we’ll need until Klay returns.
It’s a no-brainer decision IMO.
It’s only August, there’s going to be other guys involved in that competition in training camp. The last roster spot could go to a big man as well because many of the Wings on the roster can handle the ball. They don’t necessarily need Mulder or Gary Payton. I don’t think either one of those two makes it on on the roster for opening night.
W’s didnt sign 15th player for as long as possible last yr to keep their luxury tax bill as low as possible. They also wanted to keep their options in case of injuries.
Lee showed he can shoot 3’s, hustles, and had a great contagious attitude. That being said, it doesnt hurt to be Curry’s brother in law.

Facts, Lee doesn’t sniff this team if he’s not Curry’s family, he barely fits the roster as-is, and will be getting way less minutes this year, as Moody is 10x the player he is right from day 1.
Lee plays both sides of the ball. Nothing exciting just a guy who can give you about 15 minutes off the bench.
He’s also come in big in the clutch multiple times. Good bench guy

They would probably have to release him first and then he would have to clear waivers before Mulder could be signed to a two-way contract.
Maybe. Mulder and Chiozza would be such a good duo for the kind of contract they have. Also tho I don’t know how Chiozza was able to sign a TW. He just played his 3rd season. I thought that was the last eligible for two way guys.

Warriors aren’t trading for the head case Simmons, who also has a bad attitude, not to mention the extra millions on his salary even if they included Wiggins … And I wouldn’t trade Wiggins EVEN UP for Simmons, much less give up anything else for him …
Wiggins for Simmons is one of those trades neither team likes.

@KezarMike If you wouldn’t trade mid-Wiggins for an actual-stud in Simmons, straight up, you are absolutely insane. Simmons had 6.0 WS last year, Wiggins was 3.8, he’s almost doubled him in an off year.

Wiggins is overpaid and GSW doesnt have the room for a mid-player like him making Kawhi-level money. Maybe if GSW didnt have the 3 HOFers then Wiggins is totally fine making that much, but they do, so they need to RID THE MID, RID THE WIGGS.
Wiggins is NOT a fit on this team, Simmons is an all-star, he fits on ALL teams. Please stop overrating Wiggins and underrating Simmons, its ridiculous, almost makes me think you arent a Warriors fan, because you would rather lose with Wiggins than win with Simmons. Morey is trash, it makes sense Simmons would pack it in rather than keep playing there – thats not a “head case” or attitude problems – you are very wrong there.
Problem with Simmons has to do with what his real value is. You are not going to get 4 great players for him like what Morey wants. His value is Wiggins, Kuminga, and a future 1st rounder is the best Sixers could ask for. That would be more than enough for Simmons in they get a good starter that can score, a future all star, and a future 20th pick. Morey can wait for a lillard trade but I doubt that happens. The longer Morey waits the harder is it for him to get a player like Kuminga to be included in a trade.

Simmons will be traded. Imo Kings have best deal. As far as players that make Sixers better. But I think Warriors, Blazers (CJ not Dame). All could make a move for him. Hawks have the pieces too. But don’t know If those two teams would trade.

I doubt very highly. Simmons will be a Sixer this ur. It’s too toxic for him or team. So Morey better wake up. Cause it’s going to only get worse. Imo he’s gone before the season starts.
