With the 2024/25 NBA regular season set to tip off next month, we’re getting serious about predictions for the upcoming campaign and continuing an annual Hoops Rumors tradition.
With the help of the lines from a series of sports betting sites – including Bovada and BetOnline – we’re running through the predicted win totals for each of the NBA’s 30 teams, by division. In a series of team-by-team polls, you’ll get the chance to weigh in on whether you think those forecasts are too optimistic or too pessimistic.
In 2023/24, our voters went 16-14 on their over/under picks. Can you top that in ’24/25?
We’ll wrap up our series today with the Pacific Division…

The Warriors will win 50+ games next season if they stop the silly turnovers and play the type of defense that they have shown they can play. They blew so many games the past two seasons because they didn’t focus. They showed this at the end of last season when they stopped giving up 120+ points a night and held teams closer to 100. The team is much deeper than it has been. Wiggins and Looney might be ready to return to what they are capable of doing.
The most important offseason addition:
More focus
how about you make a prediction on how many wins this season. So prove you know the NBA. You hate the warriors and claimed they will be a lottery team so go ahead show us by making a prediction.
I made a statement based on actual observable facts and outcomes from the past two seasons. Why not come up with something intelligent to refute what I said instead of snark.
the guy is a warriors hater so i put him on the spot to make a real claim. Of course he disappears. If you look at all 5 teams they are pretty well even on who is the better team.
Its been two hours on a Tuesday boss. I didn’t disappear. I think the Warriors will be lucky to get to 40 wins. I have them pegged at 38-44
How have the Warriors gotten worse?
Its not about them getting worse. It’s about them not getting better while every other team in the West has.
Denver,Dallas,Minnesota,OKC,Sac,New Orleans,Memphis gotten worse how? Warriors are in the same grouping as the LA teams and Houston. Not great company.
Boner, “every other team has gotten better”, doesn’t agree with Vegas futures, which believes these 5 teams are at least 3 wins below where they finished last season.
Denver
Clippers
Lakers.
Phoenix
Utah (tanking)
Got to say you have the guts to post a prediction unlike many of the other warrior haters. I am picking 48 wins this year.
The warriors will win 50 plus games if curry doesn’t go down also, but nothing is certain in the NBA. If Green is suspended again for 10 and I doubt he has changed his game 50 plus games is unlikely. Kerrs coaching is dismally fading, sadly. Heild, Melton, Anderson more shallow than deep.Keep hoping.
How is his coaching fading?
Suns are a KD or Book injury away from being a borderline play in team. With them, yeah sure they will win 50+ easy, but that’s a tiny margin for injury.
GSW on the other hand, has the deepest bench in the division, and can handle any injury. There is currently no playing time for Looney, Payton and arguably even Wiggins (he cant play out there when Kuminga, Anderson and Green are). Payton/Looney/Wiggins are much better “last men on the bench” than any other team in the West.
More people vote
Lakers under 43.5 wins
Clippers under 39.5 wins
Why?
Pacific Division has tons of super stars
Suns are a super team
With Westbrook, Lakers were a super team
With George, Clippers were a super team
Warriors were a super team not long ago
Losing Thompson on his down side makes them no less of being a super team.
You’ll miss Thompson more than you think. That guy worked tirelessly off the ball for Steph. Not to mention the mere threat of Thompson from deep even if not shooting the rock well at that particular time. Is anybody doubling off Thompson, I’d say NO.
The Warriors will miss Thompson’s continuity and 12 years of knowing exactly where the other guy’s going to be.. but it’s Buddy ball now. Very capable of hitting a three in his own right. Can’t leave him open either.
Curry led the league in scoring and averaged a career best 32 points without Thompson.
Thompson is washed up.
+1
LAL, SAC & PHO over
GSW & LAC under
Lakers and Warriors over under 43,44 wins…that’s hilarious. Hope the sun comes up tomorrow and the world keeps spinning.
Each team listed here should have about 2 more wins according to the Vegas fitures.
If you look at all the other predictions this guy is making, you’ll see he’s giving the 6 tanking teams (Portland, Utah, Chicago, Washington, Charlotte, Brooklyn) too many wins. He’s projecting as if they will be doing their best when, in fact, they will be doing their worst.
For the competitive NBA teams, there are more easy wins to be had this year, especially in the East.
