I like how you try to make sense of how teams make moves and spend money in a holistic way, taking into account practices and habits over the years.
Recently, just about every talking head has been trying to explain everything away by “it’s the second apron.”
I like how much sense you made when mentioning that some teams/owners are known for being reluctant to go into the tax, and were tight long before the aprons were introduced.
Thanks. And yeah, the second apron is $20MM above the tax line this year. There are a plenty of teams that would never operate with a salary nearly that high even if none of the new roster-building restrictions existed!

Its hard to make a Top 10 bad contracts list anymore and getting harder every year
Just last year some of my 6~10 rankings flipped to neutral or maybe slightly positive over 6 months – From the mid 2010’s to about 2022 you’d never encounter that problem
