The Bulls have put out a press release confirming that guards Coby White and Josh Giddey and big man Zach Collins will miss multiple games due to injuries.
According to the team, White is experiencing tightness in his right calf and will be reevaluated in one week. Based on that timeline, White – who exited Monday’s game against Minnesota in the first quarter due to the injury – will miss games against New Orleans (Wednesday), Orlando (Friday), Charlotte (Saturday), and Boston (Monday) before being examined next Wednesday.
The Bulls’ update on Giddey comes after Shams Charania reported on Tuesday that the standout guard will miss “a few weeks” due to a left hamstring strain. The club has confirmed that diagnosis and stated that Giddey will be reevaluated in two weeks. That means he’ll miss at least Chicago’s next eight games and could remain on the shelf beyond that.
As for Collins, the forward/center sustained a right toe sprain and will be reevaluated in 10 days, per the team. It will be the second extended absence this season for Collins, whose debut was delayed until December 5 after he fractured his wrist during the preseason. He played in each of the Bulls’ past 10 games after missing the first 21.
White and Giddey are the Bulls’ leading scorers so far this season at 19.2 points per game apiece, while Collins had scored double-digit points in each of his past six outings.
The injuries to White and Giddey will result in larger roles for Tre Jones, Ayo Dosunmu, Kevin Huerter, and Jevon Carter in Chicago’s backcourt, while forward Patrick Williams seems likely to return to the frontcourt rotation with Collins sidelined.
The banged-up Bulls are also currently dealing with injuries affecting all three of their two-way players, Trentyn Flowers (right knee hyperextension), Emanuel Miller (right hamstring strain), and Lachlan Olbrich (left ankle sprain). Additionally, this year’s lottery pick, Noa Essengue, is out for the season following shoulder surgery.

*Sigh*
Tough break for Coby heading into free agency. A big year would have paid off bigly for him.
Are the guys stretching properly? Loads of soft tissue injuries this year for young players.
need more bananas
Yeahh that’s been going on all over the league though honestly. Hopefully it doesn’t lead to any serious injuries though.
With Giddey out 8 gms, could be more. Time for Ayo to show his worth. Teams will be watching.
Best to let Coby and Josh heal. Feb 5 is coming.
Billy has been coach since 2020-21. His record has been 31–41 (.431), 46–35 (.561), 40–42 (.488),
39–43 (.476), 15–17 (.469). Consistently a sub-.500 team. “BillyBall”
Time to punt on this season. If Bulls can move Vuc for Kuminga and trade Coby once healthy for an unprotected first that would be a win. Re-sign Ayo hopefully at a slight discount to stay home.
Before you can do the math, You have to know all the variables in the equation:
1) Who’s the real owner? Is Jerry still in charge? Are the kids running the team? Who are the fans really going to get behind?
2) Who’s running the day to day? Is AK running everything? Is Eversley a true GM in charge of obtaining the players? What’s really going on there?
3) Who was in charge of that last draft? Because whoever it was he can’t be allowed to make the next one. With 3/4 of their roster becoming FA’s in 2026 they draft a …..Project who won’t be much for 3 years at least? That’s just freakin brilliant.
4) What do the Ishiba’s have to do with anything? Are they planning to sell the Suns and take over the Bulls and White Sox? Is that even feasible to the other NBA owners? Will they let that happen?
Until there are answers to those questions you can’t even begin to speculate about the future of this team. The needs are obvious to anybody who knows anything about basketball. They need a young C, Who is a rim protector and rebounder at the very least. If he can shoot all the better. Who’s available? I don’t have a clue. As long as he doesn’t cost any of their draft picks fine. They have money, If they can get one that way all the better. Start off with Okoro, Buzelis, Giddey, The C and a 2 guard better than Coby and it’s a start. If the bench has Jones, Ayo, Collins and Smith to start off with you could do worse. Like I said it can be done in one year. Right now this team gets out muscled every night. Until you fix that, The rest is pointless as the guys they have are asked every night to battle bigger, stronger guys and they get injured constantly. Until you answer my questions though, You can’t even GUESS what’s going to happen.
The future is they gave an unproductive coach. A new 5 yr contract. That’s a fact. Billy has implemented a new offense. Is basically copying the Thunder model. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a core and hasn’t settled on one for years. The Essengue pick. The way they treated Giddey. The way they are treating Coby now.
You can’t do anything about a bad owner. But everyone else’s record is there for all to see. Billy was the wrong move. Which falls on management. All you can do now. Is hope the players and talent steps up. And saves this process. Cause all players are looking for success and a chance to play. So you root for the players to find their game. Like Giddey has like Buzelis has. Bulls have a few good moves to make. At TD at FA and draft. So again you root for the players to level up. Cause that helps in all transactions.
Oh and i forgot the Williams pick. And how they are treating him since.
Very well done Mike.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
