December 1: Seth Curry has officially signed with the Warriors, according to a team press release.
November 30: Free agent guard Seth Curry plans to re-sign with the Warriors on Monday on a deal that will cover the rest of the 2025/26 season, reports ESPN’s Shams Charania (via Twitter).
After spending training camp with Golden State, Curry was waived in mid-October as the team made its final cuts for the regular season roster, mostly because his veteran’s minimum salary couldn’t fit under a second-apron hard cap.
Reporting at that time suggested Curry was expected to rejoin the Warriors eventually, but the club had to wait until at least November 11 in order to squeeze his prorated minimum-salary contract below the hard cap.
Waiting an extra few weeks to bring him back will create some extra breathing room for Golden State. Assuming he signs on Monday, as planned, Curry’s rest-of-season cap hit will be $1,755,198, leaving the Warriors roughly $264K below their hard cap. He’ll earn a salary of $2,777,830 if he finishes out the season with the club.
Curry, an 11-year veteran, played last season for the Hornets, leading the league in three-point percentage at 45.6% on 182 total attempts. A 6’1″ three-point specialist, he holds lifetime averages of 10.0 points per game on 43.3% shooting from deep.
This will be the first time that Seth and his brother, Stephen Curry, play on the same NBA team during the regular season.
Playoffs!
No championship confirmed
Sorry St. Curry
After last night poor 3 point shooting by the warriors they need all the help they can get.
Seth is ancient, he is washed up, he should have never been signed, this is a horrid signing, only makes GSW worse. The defense is the problem, Seth does absolutely zero. He is also made of glass.
LOL washed up? He shot 3s at a 45.6% clip last season. Sit down, troll
Troll? That’s you. Seth literally went 1.2 for 2.7 from 3 with a 0.1 VORP and 1.8 win shares. “45.6% clip” with literally 2 attempts a game….pathetic. That means nothing. He is useless and so is your hoops knowledge.
Your seat is over there at the little kids table, let us hoop-knowers discus this in peace, please.
This team is getting desperate
Oh great, more size and rebounding!!! Oh wait.
Kerr is going to play Curry Curry Podz GP2 and Kuminga and then blame Kuminga when it gets cooked by bigs.
Kuminga will be permanently shelved soon, phantom injury or not. This is why he didnt wamt to sign. Kuminga is a goner. Mind as well. Both parties need to move on. :(
I don’t understand why he doesn’t drive anymore to the basket. I just don’t see his value going up.
Kuminga doesn’t drive anymore because he’s been told not to. See the Butler comments two weeks ago.
Phantom injury? What an A-hole?
This is what Kerr wants. He wants it over and done with and he shall get it soon. The first 12 games was such a fake. Shame on Warriors and shame on Kuminga.
That’s ridiculously stupid. Where is your evidence? Kuminga, the league, or his agent would have said something.
Says a smart guy who still think Wiseman is not a bust and Warriors made the right pick because centers take 10 yrs to develop. :)
Where is your evidence that Kuminga’s injury was fake?
It’s an ugly chaos. Kerr said few day ago something like…. “ Ask Kuminga if he’s ok or not. I have no idea…. Who knows when he will play…. All i know is he hasnt practiced at all….” Just horrible to say that publicly. Why even put the team in this situation, major tension for no reason. If they dont like him, they should not have signed him. So my prediction is he will not play much going forward. An injury will be a good excuse for both parties, serious or not. Even the first 12 gms felt so superficial. Btw did the injury come first or the benching? It’s OVER.
Huh? Kuminga was in Santa Cruz for awhile. So, he didn’t practice with the team. Kerr is not going to micromanage every little thing a player does with the trainers. It is not his job. Why rush a player’s return from injury? That is a terrible thing to do. Kuminga played Saturday and no tension has been reported. Why make up stuff that isn’t there?
You are the only one who doesnt see it. He wasnt there for awhile, only 1-2 days. Kuminga missed 7 consecutive games. Did benching come first or the injury? They announced the benching and he missed 7 gms. There’s report out that he felt like “scapegoat” amd Kerr also did that interview only after Kuminga missed 3 gms. It’s all messed up situation. You are like the only one who’s blind. There were many awkard gms last year and it’s happening again. That’s why I am predicting he will be shelved soon unfortunately. :(
Kuminga wasn’t doing what the team wanted him to do last season. Why do you think they traded for Butler. This year, he has been playing different.
Kuminga obviously have been getting bad advice but they want a trade as soon as he’s eligible. Warriors don’t want him hurt too before he becomes eligible. As soon as he shows he’s healthy, he will be shelved and shipped out. It’s painful to say the least because we literally have no elite young players that we drafted all these years. Even Podz has digressed from his rookie yr it seems. :(
Umm…There was no market for him during the off season. The Nets could have easily signed, but were not interested. Do you really believe that not playing him for 3 months due to two knee injuries is going to increase his value? Nobody will be interested.
@michol, sadly, you’re right. Your use of “permanent” is, of course, ironic… Kerr declared Kuminga the “permanent” starter after the 4th game of the season.
Everyone knew the moment that commitment was broken, the relationship was permanently over.
“182 total attempts” this is the same logic that thinks Podz having 0.5 charges drawn a game means something.
Seth going 1/2 from 3 while the opps score at will directly on his head = GSW’s future.
Think I remember a poster using the exact words….Kuminga and scapegoat. Unsurprisingly some warriors fans lost their s**t. Didnt exactly take long. Warriors got their centre I see.
Huh?
Who is the last Warriors draftee that we developed and became a legit nba player? Kerr does a much better job developing journeymen so they will get paid elsewhere.
Journeyman don’t need developing.
Yet Ty Jerome would have been worth keeping
Donte, GP2, Jerome, and even Wiggins
> Who is the last Warriors draftee that we
> developed and became a legit nba player?
After 20 games, that’s truly THE question facing the franchise because a failure to develop talent spells the end. Not just for this season, but the next as well.
This summer, we heard Lacob and Dunleavey say that for the team to be better, the young core had to take a leap forward. (Obviously, because the rest of the roster is in decline and increasingly unavailable.)
So far, so bad.
Kerr is sticking with the old guys and the career scrubs, which is why this team will be worse this year than last. The commitments to Podz and JK have been broken, like their spirit. Bring on Seth Curry and pray that Al Horford can give you 20 games before April.
This team doesn’t make it past the play-in. There will be big changes.
You can’t develop drafted players when they’re not very good.
Dunleavy’s draft picks will turn out better. Davis came in playing right away, yet he’s limited but look where he was chosen. Late second round.
Richard is pretty good and he’s a second rounder. So far so good. Post also good player.
You can’t develop players who don’t have talent.
I’ve been saying they want to trade Jonathan Kuminga for a year and a half. They just didn’t want to give him away for peanuts and pumped up his value verbally. Didn’t work out so well as the league saw him via the eye test lol
You don’t draft players who don’t have talent.
Once you draft them. Every team has the responsibility to make them better.
Warrior sure did. Bob Myers, drafted for body and measurements. Both moody and JK have incredible bodies. That’s where Bob went wrong.
Moody has gotten better. He’s a great outside and three-point shooter now. But he’s still horrible overall. No lateral movement on defense can’t guard anybody.
JK never wanted it. He let his athleticism carry him until about the last 18 months he started working on stuff. Someone got in his ear finally. But there’s a disconnect somewhere.
You Can’t put 100% blame on the team. A lot of of it has to be on the player.
Kerr had inout in drafting every draftee under Myers for 10 yrs. They all failed us with draft picks and developing young players.
Moody has plenty of lateral movement but due to height and weight can only guard GUARDS. Problem is, Kerr is playing him vs 6’9″ 250 lb FORWARDS, as Moody is only a Forward in Kerr’s mind only.
Moses Moody is a strict SG, play him there in a regular basketball lineup and he will excel. Why does Kerr believe all his SGs are also stretch bigs? They aren’t. There is no Klay in this group. Kerr disagrees, he thinks every guard on his team except Steph and Pat Spencer are also forwards. Kerr is incredibly wrong and all he does is arrogantly triple and quadruple down as GSW loses winnable game after winnable game.
You’re not seeing what I’m seeing then Davey. Moody cannot stay in front of guards nor wings at small forward. You’re wrong here.
Davis amd Podz havent developed since their rookie yr, wouldnt you agree? You can even argue that they have digressed. Why?
@michol, Good point. Add Kuminga to make 3.
Kerr’s commitment to each of the 3 players has declined every year.
It’s always made more sense to Kerr to play journeymen than keep his commitments to developing players.
Ari, so right, big changes. I keep saying this is going be a fantastic trade deadline.
Either they go for it because they’re 500 or so.., or they’re 10 games under and they blow it up.
and Lacob will never blow it up. Jimmy and Steph alone is plenty to build around. I would move mountains to make a big 3 with Steph/Jimmy and Zubac. Zubac is like a turbo charged Bogut.
> Jimmy and Steph alone is plenty to build around
Next season, Jimmy will be 37 and Steph 39. You can’t build around that.
Gary is right. If this team falls a few games under .500, the rebuild chatter will start. If it’s by 10 games, Steph is a Warrior forever, but the rest of the old guys will be exchanged for future draft picks. This is a business.
> Next season, Jimmy will be 37 and Steph 39. You can’t build around that.
They literally have to.
Joe Lacob will -never- rebuild. He will always reload. If they trade Jimmy, Dray and Kuminga, that money will be spent on a new superstar. That’s how it works.
@daveyj,
Lacob has said the same thing everyone else has about the impact of the CBA: there are too few high quality players available by free agency or trade to build a team that way.
If that weren’t the case, JK, Moody, and Podz would have already been packaged to maximize the competitiveness of teams over the past 2 seasons.
I don’t follow what you mean. There are franchise-changing players available every deadline, whether actually-moved or not. Joker is a free agent in a year and the all the Nuggets FO talks about is saving money, he could easily be gone if the owner decides to be cheapskate. That’s just one. There are dozens more.
Also trades can and often are multi-teamers, so I don’t think Lacob is handicapped. I don’t think Jimmy will stick around as he is ring hunting right now. So thats money getting freed up sooner than later. Lacob will outspend everyone, he has always consistently said that, what’s why he signed Poole to that deal, to prove he was of his word. GSW will literally never rebuild in the 2020s. Maybe in 2035.
> There are franchise-changing players available every deadline,
> whether actually-moved or not.
Yes, but the point is that they’re not moved (or increasingly less so) because of the CBA. Similarly, there are increasingly fewer high-quality free agents available.
To make a trade for a ‘franchise-changing’ player you have to offer value in return — i.e., future FRP’s or your existing young players.
Competitive teams with assets can make those trades, but bad teams cannot. Let’s be clear, when Jimmy is gone in 16 months when Steph is 40 and Butler is gone, GSW’s remaining assets have the least value of any NBA team.
The worst thing you can do is trade your few young players and picks for a Giannis because that makes you “the living dead” — too good to get a high lottery pick, and not good enough to compete.
@GaryRSW is right in thinking that the Warriors will trade away assets like Butler and Draymond immediately if this team falls out of contention. It won’t be a “reload”, it’ll be the start of a “rebuild”.
and again, Golden State will -never- rebuild. Stop saying that. Lacob will never do this, he has literally said so.
Also, age 40 Curry will still be MVP-tier. He aint Bron. Shooting doesn’t age.
It’s really frustrating to think we have nothing to show for all the drafts for the last 10 yrs. What would Rollins be doing now if he was still with Warriors, lol. We literally have nothing of our own to look forward to… :(
> We literally have nothing of our own to look
> forward to… :(
True. We couldn’t have managed these assets any worse. We refused to trade the young players to upgrade the team, and then refused to invest in them, so they’ve been devalued.
We need scoring off the bench – especially 3 pointers. This could be good and fingers crossed that Seth still has something in the tank.
The Curry bros will lead GSW to score 125 per game and still lose by 15+ the rest of the season.
Draymond at the 5, GP2 at the 4, Will Richard at the 3, Seth at the 2, Podz at the 1.
What are the chances that we’ll see that bench line-up at some point?
Zero. Why would Draymond becoming off the bench to play the 5? Silly.
I don’t think I’ve seen that kind of line-up this season. But I haven’t watched that many GS games.
I’m pretty sure I remember Draymond + 4 guards on the floor last year, though.
Did he come off the bench?
@Giants74
Silly?
Well, it didn’t take long.
Yesterday late in the first quarter: Butler, Spencer, Seth, Moody, Hield.
At the start of the 2nd half: Draymond, Moody, Podz, Richard, GP2. And they played great and came back into the game.
2nd half of the 4th quarter: Draymond, GP2, Podz, Hield, Seth.
Things happen in games, and coaches put out line-ups that they think can impact the game. Lately, Kerr tends to put small players out there to go against superior opposition. As years went on, he started to lean more and more into playing small when things don’t go well.
Also, bench units don’t have to consist of 5 bench players. Some starters can and do play with bench units, for GS and for other teams, unless it’s garbage time or whatever. Kerr likes Butler to lead the 2nd unit, and you know it if you watch games. So don’t try to be edgy with your “Why would Draymond be coming off the bench? Silly”.
Probably vs the 76ers
With Draymond on the bench the last game, Kuminga was the five at times.
What’s the point here. Small ball wins.
But the small ball that wins has heavy wing talent and depth. Not as much guard talent and depth.
Small ball is 6-7, 6-9 across the perimeter, but without a seven footer.
Looney 6–9, Bam 6–9, Horford 6–9.
That results in great defense, fast paced offense, and a lot of layups, team rebounding, and rings.
Wings mean rings.
Warriors did it previously with Greymond, Livingston, Iguodala, Klay Thompson and other 6-6, 6–7 guys.
@GaryRedSoxxWarriors
Great point :)
“Small ball” without a big but with a bunch of 6’6 or taller wings who can actually defend can work. GS had their version of it in the past, even OKC last year when Chet was injured, and they played JDub at the 5 for stretches.
But “small ball” with a bunch of guards who are undersized even by guard standards in 2025, and are defensively challenged, that kind of “small ball” is dead and always has been.
There was probably a time in the 2010s when the league went “as much skill and scoring in the backcourt as possible”, and many traditional bigs got played off the floor. But in 2025, so many big bodies can actually handle, pass, move and shoot, that playing super small against them doesn’t give you any advantage.
Thats a Lie ….. the only Warriors team that didn’t use a true center was their last title. And it was guard heavy. It had depth with ballhandlers and playmakers. Their first three titles had two or three centers they used as depth. And to match up in playoffs.
Celtics won with small ball. That’s cause they had the greatest defensive center in the history of the game. And won 11 titles. Small ball is not new. Only to the uninformed ….. Lakers beat who many think was the deepest team ever. Beat Sixers in Finals with Magic at center. Wizards won a title with a 6’ 7” center and 6’ 8” PF. Two of best bigs ever. Small ball is a weapon a scheme. Not a guarantee to win anything. That Wizards team was smaller than Warriors lol. Warrior fans don’t know history. Most of them became fans when Warriors won. Those are bandwagon fans. Just like all of them jumping off the Kuminga bandwagon again ..
You can have 7 footers in small ball. It is really not about size. It has more to do with the skill level of the players. Don Nelson created “Small Ball”. He played numerous 7-footers over the years.
Back when Nelson first started using smaller lineups, big men weren’t mobile. They pretty much stayed in the same spot. Now, you have them shooting 3s. Ironically, the guy who introduced 3s to basketball was George Mikan; the first great big man. Games play at a faster pace now.
That’s not true. Only some centers were like that. It’s not that they couldn’t. It’s cause teams didn’t use them that way. Wilt and Russell are two of greatest ATHLETES ever….. not all bigs were un athletic or stationary. Teams schemes and iffense was designed that way. Look up who Bob Petit was …..
Small ball as Kerr is doing it right now (all undersized guards) does not win. The Pelicans are not a real NBA team, they are a minor league team.
What Kerr is doing, playing 5 Steve Kerrs so he can jerk off over it later no matter the result, doing that vs the Thunder will result in a 40 point loss, mark my words.
Ooohhhh nooooo ….. waaaaaaAAt 😦😧😲😱
They are bailing on the Kuminga bandwagon ……
Huh? What? They have needed this type of shooting since Klay left. It is pretty obvious. Then again, you still haven’t noticed how Kuminga has changed his game.
You don’t replace Klay. Kuminga will never be a shooter. He is a scorer who is still finding his place. What’s obvious is Warrior fans are clueless. This team at best is a top 6 team.
Not having a shooter is why the Warriors offense was stagnant last season. Signing the other Curry will hopefully address some of those issues.
You still don’t see Kuminga as a different player this season.
Buddy Hield to Clippers >>>>>>. NOW
Brook Lopez to Warriors ……….
Brook Lopez is done. He’s a statue out there.
I don’t think he even plays on the Clippers.
He must be the third Lopez brother because I don’t see B or R Lopez. I see DNP Lopez.
He still destroys what Buddy does out there. He is a massive improvement over him, even if Lopez just patrols the lane.
Gary, Buddy is done in this league. You have a lot of words for Moody, but he plays well pretty often. Buddy is a walking -15 in 15 minutes.
Buddy sure hasn’t looked good this year so far.
But I still think Brook Lopez would be a bad move. Too much money and doesn’t give you much anymore.
Buddy: 30.8% on 3 on 1.3 per 4.3 in 17.5 MPG
Brook: 35.9% on 3 on 1.4 per 3.8 in 14.4 MPG
Brook adds size and is better at shooting than Buddy. I also agree Lopez might be cooked as he is 37 and only gets backup mins, but if we going with “who helps GSW more” its Lopez by a mile.
Lopez is a high IQ center. Abd can hit open looks. He is perfect for Warriors. Better than AL imo. But with Al hurt. He is even more valuable to Warriors lol.
Exactly, both Buddy and Brook’s times in the NBA are circling the drain, but Moody being superior on both sides means he can just get all of Buddy’s minutes. GSW also has 80000 SGs on the roster. Brook’s value to GSW is way more than on LAC, and way more than Buddy’s. No one is arguing Brook is a gamechanger, but at 15 MPG he’s the way superior option to Buddy, GSW are winning many more games with that swing alone.
Simons for kuminga if Warriors attach a 2nd lol. Simons would fit in great @ the 4 for Golden State.
At some point, the team can only make so many moves before they look at the HC and ask, “What are we paying you for”?
D-Lo, Oubre, Vinny D, CP3 have all worked elsewhere no?
When Steph retires LOL.
Honestly it’s just the way the CBA is structured that the Warriors are really restricted in signing FA’s and drafting decent players. Unfortunately, Bob Myers really blew his draft picks with Wiseman (that draft was pretty bad though) and Kuminga. You can’t really blame Kerr with what the tools he’s been given, can’t really make players be good just because a system changes. Sometimes a duck is a duck.
You’re right, US Mens Olympic team didn’t have “the tools” for Kerr to coach.
I mean … they still won the gold. If they hadn’t, then sure. Just weird to complain about someone who coached a team that won the final prize.
Kerr will not be coaching the mens team for a reason, Kerr does not have a contract extension for a reason.. see a pattern?
Kerr only wanted to coach in the Olympics once. If the Warriors didn’t want Kerr, why haven’t they fired him? Actually, the extension is already on the table. He just needs to sign it.
They’re just making sure the bros play together before the retirement announcement.
Steph Curry is never retiring, get that out of your head. He has literally said he wants to play as long as he humanly can, even reducing his role. So…unless you are talking about crappy Seth’s retirement, you are wrong.
Yeah he probably won’t be retiring this year but it’s going to happen sooner rather than later.
Nope. Curry playing til 45-50. Argue with a wall.
Lmfao!! Argue with a wall took me out!! Zero chance he’s playing at age 50 but that would be cool. I’m not sure his legs will hold up to 45 Nevermind 50.
What’s the line for the Thunder game. Seth brought it down to Thunder by 25 ……
I just looked Monday 4:45 PM. It’s 9.5. So signing the Curry brother must’ve helped !!

I don’t think he even plays on the Clippers.
He must be the third Lopez brother because I don’t see B or R Lopez. I see DNP Lopez.
It takes like 2 mins to get your facts right…….
Ohhhh and how is Fox doing ……. tell me about him.
“It’s better to let someone think you are ignorant than to open your mouth and prove it.”
Brook is playing 14.4 mins a game and Clippers don’t use him. Thats why you can trade for him. He’s a better scorer rebounder than any big on Warriors. And Brook before this year avg 31 mins a game. More than any bench player or big you have on Warriors …….. now go massage Al’s back.
Learn the game so you can stop hating on players.
Ooohhh and how is Fox doing.
In my opinion, Brook Lopez is done.
Are you referring to DeAron Fox. Didn’t you and I have a discussion about if he’s top 10 point guard in the league? Something like that, I don’t remember exactly. How is he doing? Isn’t he on the Spurs?
OK, I just looked it up. Brook Lopez is done.
But Fox is looking real good !! Spurs are looking good. Fox is playing well statistically. Future looks bright and even starting this year.
With their two young guys at guard drafted recently maybe they have to trade Fox again or do they keep him? I guess he’s young enough to be part of their timeline?
Too bad the kings were in a pinch and gave up their best or second best player. Between a rock and a hard place.
“Now go massage Al’s back?”
Bro, you got the wrong girl here. Keep looking.
Anybody else feel that the CBA is stupid? It was obvious from day one that the Warriors were going to sign Seth, but they had to wait until the 17th game of the season to do so or fall in to hard cap territory.
Who negotiated the last CBA on behalf of the players? Whoever they are, they got screwed.
Yeah … the latest CBA was something that the low revenue/equity-firmed owned teams wanted to see. (I think McCollum was the PA pres or something at the time).
And even some of the ownership groups that spent a lot were pretty excited to have a reason not to spend beyond a certain dollar point. They can just blame the CBA and say if the 2nd apron didn’t exist, they “would” spend more … wink wink.
It was negotiated by a plant from the pure evil billionaire owners to get them to not have to spend money. All just to avoid the Hamptons 5 scenario (that didn’t even win a title one year).
There should be salary floors but no ceilings. It doesn’t mean you win. The Yankees have outspent everyone since 2010 and have no rings to show for it.

———————only cowards respond and mute———
I know you don’t get NY wit. But this is just basketball common sense. Al has a nerve issue on his back, spine. Very serious for a big and at his age. That’s why you look at a guy like Brook. You are so blinded by envy. You can’t even see the good in Brook. That’s hate. Only you can fix Al’s back lol.
I got your post about Fox. I’m just saving it for right time. Now go put on your red stockings LMAO ..
I doubt you know what Red Stockings mean …..

“Only cowards respond and mute?”
You’re a tough cookie to figure out Al.
I’ve tried different ways to take the high road, but you’re so abrasive, you’re here to pull our chain, agitate us and call us names.
I haven’t muted a single person here. But you’re on the short list lol
I’m here to talk Hoops but you constantly talk about us versus basketball.
We’ve gone over this before. You won’t change.
You’re definitely entertained over here on the warrior articles so have at it bro. Enjoy yourself.
I’ll continue to do my best and try to take the high road. Not always easy to hold my tongue with you. Turning the other cheek is not fun but again, I’ll do my best.
