- The Kings and Rudy Gay agreed to a three-year, $40MM contract extension. The deal includes an opt out after the second year when Gay will be only 31 and the league figures to be flush with money from the new TV deal.
- The Nets and Sixers have had preliminary talks on an Andrei Kirilenko deal. There appears to be a rift between AK47 and Brooklyn at the moment.
- The Wolves had some discussions about trading Corey Brewer, but those talks appear to have quieted down.

- The Clippers are keeping an eye on Metta World Peace, though Doc Rivers seems to be publicly downplaying a connection.

Week In Review: 11/3/14-11/9/14
One of the unfortunate trends that is defining the 2014/15 season thus far is player injuries. Beginning with Paul George having been lost for the year after fracturing his leg during a Team USA intrasquad scrimmage this summer, training staffs around the league have had their hands full. Among the players currently earning their paychecks while in street clothes are Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Bradley Beal, and Marcus Smart. The latest player to fall victim to the injury bug is Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio, who severely sprained his left ankle this past week and is expected to miss seven to eight weeks of action.

- The Lakers are likely to make a run at Rajon Rondo when the point guard hits free agency next summer.
- Free agent guard John Lucas III has had inquiries from the Thunder, Pacers, and Grizzlies, but is maintaining the hope that he can make a return to the Bulls sometime this season.
- The Pacers intended to sign free agent Gal Mekel to a contract, but visa issues prevented the deal from being completed.
- Jordan Hamilton was waived by the Jazz.
- The Pacers signed A.J. Price using the hardship provision that the league had granted the franchise.
- Also decimated by injuries, the Thunder signed Ish Smith using the hardship provision they were granted.
- There were rumors that the Knicks and Pacers were discussing a deal that would send J.R. Smith to Indiana and Chris Copeland back to New York.
- The Grizzlies re-signed training camp invitee Kalin Lucas.
- The Mavs intend to make a run at signing the Blazers‘ LaMarcus Aldridge when he hits free agency next summer.

Week In Review: 10/27/14-11/2/14
NBA teams combined to hand out more than $450MM in rookie scale extensions this year, based on estimates of the maximum salaries that Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson are set to receive and the outcome of incentive clauses for a number of others. A total of nine players out of 21 who were eligible to sign rookie scale extensions did so, and those who failed to do so are now set to become restricted free agents next summer. - Steve Nash will miss all of 2014/15 due to recurring nerve damage in his back. The Lakers will apply for the Disabled Player Exception.
- In a surprise turn, the league voted against lottery reform.
- The Warriors and Klay Thompson still have a bridge to cross. Thompson’s camp wants a max level deal and the Warriors don’t want to go that high.
- The Nets traded Marquis Teague and a 2019 second-round pick to the Sixers for Casper Ware, who they waived soon after. Philly will receive the more favorable of Milwaukee’s and Sacramento’s second-round picks in 2019.
- There’s a big gap between the Bulls and Jimmy Butler as they discuss an extension.
- The Pelicans exercised their fourth year team option for Anthony Davis.
- The Cavaliers exercised their fourth-year contract option on Dion Waiters.
- The Magic exercised their team options on Victor Oladipo, Evan Fournier, Maurice Harkless, and Andrew Nicholson.
- Tobias Harris isn’t planning to sign an extension with the Magic before the deadline.

Week In Review: 9/15/14-9/21/14
The impasse between the Suns and Eric Bledsoe continues to drag on, with neither the player or the team seemingly willing to bend on their negotiating stances. With each week that passes it seems more likely that Bledsoe will be forced to sign a qualifying offer and play out the season in Phoenix before becoming an unrestricted free agent next Summer. The latest wrinkle in the saga was Minnesota jumping into the mix and being willing to offer Bledsoe the max contract he is seeking, but it would require the Suns to participate in a sign-and-trade for the deal to work, something that Phoenix is reportedly disinterested in at the present time.
