Magic Offered Heat Vucevic For Dragic

Orlando tried to pick up Miami point guard Goran Dragic, offering center Nikola Vucevic and a future first-rounder in return, reports Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Miami rejected the offer as the Heat already have Hassan Whiteside manning the middle on a maximum deal he signed in July. Still, it confirms persistent rumors that Orlando has interest in acquiring Dragic.

The Heat don’t seem to be interested in dealing Dragic before the February 23rd deadline, Stein adds. The 30-year-old still has three seasons and more than $54MM left on his contract. Vucevic, who has been in and out of the starting lineup this season, is signed for two more years at $25MM.

  1. Dumb move by the Heat. The Magic are not good and will not be good for a while so that is a VALUABLE first round pick.

Also Vucevic can play along side with Whiteside in my opinion. Before the big man cluster fuck in Orlando he was a 19 pt 10 rebound guy.

Send him to my warriors please :)

    • The Warriors don’t have anything to offer for Vucevic. A combination of Ian Clark and Mccaw/Looney is not enticing enough for Vucevic. Plus, Vucevic would tie up future cap space that would basically prevent them from signing anyone good to fill their bench (outside of them taking the minimum) in a couple of years.

Would be interesting if they totally blow this up, do this, and trade Whiteside. They won’t, but I’m hunting for trade action right now…

That trade offer is a joke. Rofl. Not news thebHeat would reject that. Hoping to keep Dragic. Please trade Whiteside for a young player and a 1st rounder.
