Kyle Lowry Undergoes Procedure On Injured Thumb

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has undergone a procedure to repair a tendon injury in his left thumb, a league source tell ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (Twitter link).

According to Wojnarowski, the recovery process isn’t expected to be particularly lengthy — Lowry is hoping to be ready to participate in Team USA’s training camp next month and the 2019 FIBA World Cup in September.

As Josh Lewenberg of notes (via Twitter), Lowry dealt with the thumb issue for most of the postseason and had a hard time gripping the ball with his left hand. The 33-year-old was always expected to address the injury – which was reported during the NBA Finals as a ligament tear – during the offseason.

Despite battling the thumb injury, Lowry helped lead the Raptors to their first-ever championship, averaging 15.0 PPG, 6.6 APG, and 4.9 RPG with a .439/.359/.802 shooting line in 24 playoff contests. He’ll enter a contract year in 2019/20 before becoming eligible for unrestricted free agency next summer.

“Lowry helped lead the Raptors to their first-ever championship”

you mean, “stood around and watched Kawhi lead the Raptors to their first-ever championship”? lol

You realize Kyle Lowry is among the leaders, or is the leader, in RPM for PGs the last 3 years?

Your basketball knowledge is trash. Lowry is a bulldog. He does so many intangible things not seen on the score sheet. And he had like 25 and 10 in the clinching game. Stood around and watched kawhi? Hardly. Dude was matched up on significantly bigger players defensively and held his own, ran the offense with precision, was aggressive when needed to be. And now a world champion. Go back to your mother’s basement, mouth breather.

Are you pro-ESPN clowns seriously going to start running with this “Lowry won the Finals, Raptors didnt need Kawhi” take? Because this is getting exhausting.

Lowry is bad at basketball. Period. Kawhi was the ONLY reason the Raptors have a title.

I thought you said Warriors was gonna win in 4 and the only reason Raptors won was because of injuries.
Lowry did have a team-leading 26 points on good shooting in game 6. Plus anyone who played regularly is helping.
Looks like you hate ESPN so much you can somehow go on a mini rant against someone who disagreed.

Yeah Lowry is so bad at basketball. He’s in the NBA making $33 million per year. How much you make sitting around your mom’s basement?

im not a big fan of Lowry but he was 16/7/4 with 38% shooting. i also remember a couple of games where he picked up a lot of scoring that took pressure off of Kawhi.

not a lethal all-star but still a good player
