FEBRUARY 7: The Warriors have officially promoted Bowman to the 15-man roster and signed him to his new contract, the team announced in a press release.
FEBRUARY 6: The Warriors have agreed to a multiyear deal with Ky Bowman, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports (Twitter link). Bowman had been on a two-way deal with the team.
Players on two-way contracts are subjected to at most 45 days with the NBA club, which includes non-game days. Bowman had used up his full 45 days with the Warriors, so once the new deal is official, he’ll be able to return to the NBA.
Bowman has appeared in 37 games for the Warriors this year. The point guard, who went undrafted last June, is averaging 7.3 points with a career-high of 24, which came in a late November contest against Oklahoma City. With D’Angelo Russell out of the picture, Bowman should get plenty of opportunity, though Andrew Wiggins looms as a competitor for shots.
The Warriors’ deadline deals left them with just nine players on their standard roster, so more signings will be coming, including the possible promotion of Marquese Chriss. Golden State won’t be able to sign two-way replacements for Bowman and/or Chriss, since the deadline for two-way signings passed on January 15.
Bob meyer might be drunk right now. first he gives away Russel to wolves who won that trade by far. Next he signs Bowman who has looked horrible in the G league. He might have played well the first couple games he was up but after that looked terrible. SMH

So answer this. In the world where the Warriors are over the tax is there a better option then Bowman as a affordable back up PG? Your stuck spending vet min on one with the team well over the cap unless you want to burn the MLE on a backup PG. Bowmans fine for what they need him to be.
The bigger question is, besides Bowman, Chriss, Lee, Paschall, and Poole who if he didnt go in this last deal will be around, who do they bring in to fill out the bench?
Figure Steph, Klay, Dray, Wiggens are starters with Looney/2020 1st rounder? So Paschall and Lee are your 7th/8th men with Chriss and Looney probably splitting min at C. The team could use a lockdown perimeter defender even if that player isnt an Andre style 6th man. They have the MLE and multiple trade exceptions along with a high first to fill that in plus as many minimum signings as necessary.
How did he give away Russel? He is a zero defense , over dribbling non assist point guard. Wiggins is a talent who has never been in a stable organization . Wiggins fits next year much better in a Harrison Barnes role. Plus a first in 21 draft which gonna be much deeper in talent. Plus a 2nd which will have worth, especially since Russel will not carry wolves to playoffs in west. I think a year from now people will be talking a different tune…
So you happy to pay $30MM/per year for a low role player that signs a 10/5/1 a game… Wow!!! No wonder everyone wants to play in the Bay area.
Wiggins must be a star performer to make it work for GSW, he is meant to be a star, not a below average kind of player like Barnes!!!
Except Barnes plays defense and Wiggins is about as good a defender as D’Angelo Russell is. Barnes was part of the Warriors original Death Lineup because he is such a good defender. Saying that Wiggins will be playing the same type of role is ridiculous.
Barnes was not a good defender. Maybe playing with Iggy and Draymond made him look like one but he wasn’t.
Wiggins and Barnes are similar in body, style, & attitude. Barnes did not play the defense then that he does now. It is a fine comparison since they will have had some of the same teammates.
Not sure what Wigs’ exact role will be– he may not be as smart, but be more comfortable inside– but GSW has won before like this.
People will be talking a different tune a year from now, they’ll be calling for the Warriors to blow up the team and rebuild. Wait and see.

He looked pretty awesome till he hit the rookie wall. I like him as a defense first backup PG to fill in for Steph when he is off the floor or off for a night. The cost on him will be like 800k so he is affordable. They have Lee as another option at the 1 if Bowman struggles, but if you look at him despite some games where he didnt do much in the stat lines he was usually decent +/-, he is a lower ceiling high floor player with upside if he adds more volume to a 3Pt shot that looked smooth at times.
Yikes. Bowman puts up stats. And he’s not bad at all. I feel he’ll have a 10 year career as a rotational player TBH. Yikes

Well the way I look at it Russel played the 1/2 which goes to Steph and Klay respectfully while Wiggins can play the two or three…. I don’t know a whole lot about the Warriors roster because I’m a Boston fan… but isnt Andrew Wiggins a better 3 than they currently have?
He should start. Always has and has been durable, maybe by him picking his spots.
They traded away Robinson who was their starter. It is a good fit for Wiggins.
