O.J. Mayo Meets With Suns

SATURDAY, 6:03pm: Beyond the Suns, Mayo is attracting interest from the Lakers, Bulls and Mavs, reports Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports (via Twitter). Look for Mayo to make his decision on where he wants to play next season within the next 10 days. 

FRIDAY, 6:02pm: Unrestricted free agent O.J. Mayo met with the Phoenix Suns on Friday, according to AZCentral.com's Tariq Lee. News on Mayo has been quiet as of late, and despite this being his first meeting with an organization, he's one of the more talented players left on the free agency market and should command some serious attention once a few other shooting guards officially sign with their respective teams. 

The Suns currently have an offer sheet extended to Eric Gordon that was signed on Wednesday, but the Hornets still have until tomorrow to match, and they're expected to do so

Hornets Match Gordon’s Offer Sheet From Suns

3:52pm: The Hornets have matched the offer sheet, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports, via Twitter. In a statement released by the Hornets (via John Reid of The Times-Picayune) Gordon backtracked from his earlier comment that "Phoenix is just where my heart is now."

"There is always a business element to the NBA when dealing with contracts, but I never lost my appreciation for the New Orleans Hornets,'' Gordon said in the statement. "I look forward to going on the court this season to make our team successful.''   

SATURDAY, 3:17pm: The Hornets are about to release a statement announcing that they've matched Gordon's offer sheet, reports Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports (Twitter link).

WEDNESDAY, 5:07pm: Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reports Gordon has signed the offer sheet, according to the Suns (Twitter link).

Odds & Ends: Humphries, Pistons, Warriors, Celtics

Rick Bonnell from the Charlotte Observer tweets that the Nets may have offered Kris Humphries either a two-year, $20MM or a three-year, $26MM contract.

Dwight Howard Rumors: Friday

The Rockets and Magic are further from completing a deal than has been speculated, reports NBA.com's David Aldridge. It's been rumored that Houston had made the decision to amnesty Luis Scola so that they could take on several of Orlando's terrible contracts, but they're apparently only willing to take back one. Also, they're only willing to give up one of their three first round draft picks.

Sundiata Gaines, Nets To Part Ways

According to a tweet from New York Daily News reporter Stefan Bondy, Nets General Manager Billy King has announced that Sundiata Gaines will not be returning to the team.

Gaines averaged 5.1 PPG in 12 starts last season for the Nets. He was recently mentioned as one of the pieces in a possible mega deal for Dwight Howard, but that deal has since died.

Gaines is now an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any team.

Cavaliers Re-Sign Luke Harangody

JULY 11, 4:56pm: The Cavs and Harangody have made the signing official, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal (Twitter link).

JULY 3, 9:29pm: Cavaliers forward Luke Harangody signed his $1.1MM qualifying offer to stay with the team, tweets Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski. In 21 games last season, the 24-year-old averaged 2.9PPG and 2.5RPG. Harangody was acquired by the Cavaliers in a trade from Boston at last year's trade deadline. 

Hornets Acquire Ryan Anderson In Sign-And-Trade

WEDNESDAY, 10:40am: The Magic have officially announced the completion of the Anderson/Ayon sign-and-trade in a press release.

SUNDAY, 3:21pm: The Hornets will acquire Ryan Anderson in a sign-and-trade deal with the Magic, writes Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski. Once the moratorium ends, Anderson will agree to a four-year, $36MM deal with New Orleans, and the Magic will receive Hornets center Gustavo Ayon

Nets Re-Sign Deron Williams

11:55pm: Williams announced via Twitter that he has officially signed his contract to remain with the Nets.

JULY 10TH, 11:47pm: Williams' contract will include an early termination option after the fourth year, tweets ESPN.com's Marc Stein. The point guard is currently finalizing his deal in Las Vegas, says Ken Berger of CBSSports.com (via Twitter).
