Warriors, Bobcats Pursuing Carl Landry
MONDAY, 4:42pm: There are several teams pursuing Landry, with the Warriors and Bobcats "running neck and neck at the front of the pack," reports Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times (via Twitter).
SATURDAY, 5:20pm: The Warriors met with Landry on Friday to discuss the possibility of the forward signing with Golden State, reports Marcus Thompson of the Bay Area News Group (Sulia link).
Free Agent Rumors: Rush, McGee, Flynn, Landry
Hoops Rumors' list of 2012 restricted free agents has fewer than a dozen names left on it, and a couple more (Jeremy Lin, Nicolas Batum) are set to come off the board as soon as we get resolution on their respective offer sheets. With a number of players having signed new deals and a few others having become unrestricted, it might not be long before there are no restricted free agents left on the market. But for now, there are still a handful looking for work, and we have updates on a couple of them within today's round-up of free agent rumors….
Malone No Longer Candidate For Magic Job
Only several hours after we learned that Brian Shaw withdrew his name from the Magic head coaching search, now there is word that Warriors assistant Michael Malone is also no longer a possibility for the job. Malone's agent told the Orlando Sentinel that he is no longer under consideration, tweets Josh Robbins.
Odds & Ends: Humphries, Pistons, Warriors, Celtics
Rick Bonnell from the Charlotte Observer tweets that the Nets may have offered Kris Humphries either a two-year, $20MM or a three-year, $26MM contract.

Warriors Interested In Kenyon Martin
After acquiring veteran guard Jarrett Jack earlier this week, the Warriors have shifted their focus to adding another big man. According to GM Bob Myers, Golden State is targeting power forwards, and one report yesterday linked the team to Carl Landry. A sign-and-trade might be necessary to snag Landry, but the Warriors are also eyeing more affordable options, including Kenyon Martin, says Matt Steinmetz of CSNBayArea.com.
Odds & Ends: Nets, Villanueva, Warriors, Bulls
As busy as the Nets have been so far this month, we haven't heard much out of majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov. That changed today, however, as Prokhorov released an official statement discussing the team's offseason:
"I'm thrilled with the way our team has come together. My congratulations and appreciation go out to general manager Billy King, assistant general manager Bobby Marks and head coach Avery Johnson for their tenacity, nerve and heart throughout this process. With the re-signing of Deron Williams and the trade for Joe Johnson, we go into our new home led by an All-Star backcourt and with every hope of a great season for the Brooklyn Nets. I can't wait until opening night."

Kyler On Calderon, Howard, Blair, Augustin
Jose Calderon's name has surfaced as a possible amnesty candidate a few times this offseason, but according to Raptors president Bryan Colangelo, the team doesn't expect to amnesty Calderon or anyone else this week. While Colangelo acknowledged that Calderon wasn't "thrilled" about the trade that brought Kyle Lowry to Toronto, he still views him as a valuable piece on the roster, as Eric Koreen of the National Post writes. Colangelo confirmed that a few teams have inquired on Calderon, and Steve Kyler of HoopsWorld writes that a trade is much more likely than an amnesty. Odds & Ends: Nets, Brooks, Heat, Turiaf, Blazers
It's been another busy day of NBA free agency, and no team has been busier than the Nets, who've either signed, re-signed, acquired or traded 13 players today, according to the count of New York Times reporter Howard Beck (Twitter link). Many of those moves came as the team finalized earlier deals, like the swap for Joe Johnson, but some of the news was fresh, like the four-year extension for Brook Lopez. It doesn't appear GM Billy King and company are finished, either, as they're reportedly discussing a sign-and-trade deal for Antawn Jamison. We have plenty more on the moves to come here:
Latest On Magic Coaching Search
With the Nets, who had been the leading contenders for Dwight Howard, out of trade talks for now following the re-signing of Brook Lopez, the team has begun to focus on its head coaching search. Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports former Pistons coach and current Sixers assistant Michael Curry has been added to the list of candidates for the position.

The July moratorium came to an end late last night, and a number of teams didn't waste any time in finalizing moves. The Lakers' acquisition of Steve Nash was the first transaction to become official, followed closely by the Knicks' signing of J.R. Smith, Deron Williams' contract with the Nets, and Blake Griffin's five-year extension with the Clippers. We're expecting more deals to be formally announced today, but there are plenty of free agents still on the market too. We'll be tracking the latest news on those guys right here, with the newest items added to the top of the page throughout the day….
- The Nets are considering Kenyon Martin and Craig Smith and discussing a sign-and-trade for Antawn Jamison, clouding Kris Humphries' future with the team, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports (Twitter link).
- The Pacers are targeting unrestricted free agent Gerald Green as their wing player off the bench, and are expected to offer him a three-year, $10MM contract, according to Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star. O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee are out the team's price range at the moment (All Twitter links).
