Bulls Release Shaquille Harrison, Walt Lemon Jr.

The Bulls have waived Shaquille Harrison and Walt Lemon Jr., according to a press release from the team. Chicago needed the cap space to finalize the signings of free agents Thaddeus Young, which is now official, and Tomas Satoransky, who is still waiting to sign his deal. Harrison and Lemon both had non-guaranteed contracts that would have paid them $1,588,231 next season.

Harrison, 25, appeared in 73 games this year, starting 11, after signing with the Bulls last summer. He posted a 6.5/3.0/1.9 line in about 20 minutes per night.

Lemon, 26, got into six games after signing with Chicago in late March. He started the season on a two-way contract with the Celtics, but never played for them before being released in November.

Lemon had 14.3 PPG last season. Why would the Bulls release him? He could have been their starting PG next season.

I will continue to say as many good things about Shaq Harrison as I possibly can until he sticks in this league. I love his game.

Another mistake by GarPax! Harrison played well last night. Lemon is better than Dunn as a play maker at point. Players like this are needed. Remember Dinwiddie!

Dunn will be gone. Why are you concerned with third string PGs who would average 1/2 mpg next year?

It’s not about ‘Third string PGs’. It’s about giving these kids some PT to show they belong. I’m sure you thought the same with Dinwiddie as a 3rd string PG who now is an all star with a different team. It’s about scouting and player progression. This is the front office that let go JR Smith after trading for Tyson Chandler, and numerous other blunders that I can’t recall right now.

These guys need to play..Dunn had his chance, along with so many others. Dinwiddie got his chance after leaving the Bulls, and averages over 20 pts. per game. Big name players will not come to the Bulls.

Difference between the White Sox rebuild and the Bulls “rebuild” is the front office. White zsox have a great GM in Hahn while Jerry keeps letting GarPax run things. Why can’t this organization ever land a guy whose even remotely close that puts them in a spot to win a title? The East is now WIDE OPEN and yet this organization will continue to operate like it’s the Wizards or the Timberwolves. I’ve been a fan since 1989 since i was four and I’ve just given up during offseason anymore. Jerry Is the luckiest owner in sports history and it wasn’t for MJ, he’d have 0 titles as a Bulls owner since 1986. I’m in awe on how this city and the fans continue to ignore that he’s the main problem and not GarPax.
