The Michael Beasley era in Phoenix is over after the Suns waived the forward earlier this week. The Suns explained soon afterwards explaining why they cut ties with the former No. 2 overall pick. "The Suns were devoted to [Beasley]’s success in Phoenix," said president of basketball operations Lon Babby in a statement. "However, it is essential that we demand the highest standards of personal and professional conduct as we develop a championship culture. Today’s action reflects our commitment to those standards. There's been quite a bit of change in Milwaukee this summer but the Bucks weren't completely satisfied with their revamped roster. Earlier this week, the Bucks landed Caron Butler from the Suns in exchange for point guard Ish Smith and center Viacheslav Kravtsov. Butler averaged 10.4 points per game last season, his lowest output in nine years, but the two-time All-Star has added the three-point shot to his arsenal in recent years, nailing 38% of his 3.8 long-range attempts per game the past three seasons. Allen Iverson hasn't appeared in an NBA game since the 2009/10 season, but his name has been in the news plenty over the past couple of years. After multiple flirtations with comebacks – both here and abroad – AI is expected call it a career at the age of 38. Iverson averaged 26.7 PPG and 6.2 APG in 914 career regular-season contests, and increased his scoring average to 29.7 PPG in 71 playoff games. The longtime Sixer, who also spent time with the Nuggets, Pistons, and Grizzlies, was an 11-time All-Star, a four-time scoring champion, a three-time member of the All-NBA First Team, and won the MVP award in 2001. Well, the cliffnotes are that it was all about the money. The Wolves wanted a four-year deal with an average annual value of $12MM while Pekovic's agent was pushing for a $15MM AAV.
