FEBRUARY 12: Damian Lillard was set to be a major part of All-Star weekend. He was lined up to participate in the 3-point contest and put on a rap performance on Saturday before playing in the actual game on Sunday. All of that seems unlikely to happen after the point guard suffered a groin injury on Wednesday.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports (Twitter links) reports that it’s a grade 1-2 right groin strain for Lillard. Dame will spend All-Star weekend recovering in preparation for a second-half playoff push.
Lillard is averaging 29.5 points while dishing out 7.9 assists per game this season. He’s taking an absurd 10.0 shots from three per game, which somehow is only second in the league behind James Harden (12.8 shots per game).

With the all-star game the way it is now…there is no east-west format..so Beal it is.

With the even more stupid concept of Lebron-Giannis All-Star game. It doesn’t matter if the player comes from the East or the West. There were players from both conferences in the dumb draft on other team in the other conference. So it really doesn’t matter anyway because nobody watches the all-star game. Other than the slam and 3 pt contest. It’s a street-ball bore.

The WS, VORP & BPM favor Booker a little over Derozan but the W-L reverses that. The BPM greatly favors Towns but he & George missed too many games. Morant, probably next year.

per is not a great modern stat. Also completely ignores how bad Booker is on D. That being said, he should probably get the nod.
Why Booker? He is the guy that just dribbles down the court and fires away at the 3pt line. Derozan shows into people’s grill then finds a clear release.
I looked at the other metrics including ORtg-DRtg and on/off plus those 4 but Booker is only a clear winner at 2 or 3. But that defense would not survive Pops.
Lets not punish DDR because LMA doesn’t give a crap because he has to play center. DDR never gets to play guard, and the Spurs are better anyway.
All the metrics wind up favoring players from winning teams but that just means winning gets factored in, which, it should be.

The clear & obvious choice is KAT but… he is injured now, so the league missed the trick there, moving on to the next choice is gotta be Booker.
Should keep it in P-Town and replace him with CJ for both.
KAT or Booker would be good choices, maybe select Towns honorably before choosing the Book Show if Towns is hurt. I had no idea that Paul George isn’t playing. Is that even possible, just why isn’t he there. It’s a crowded field but why are Ingram & Gobert both there before him. IMO it’s George instead of Gobert, and then Booker to replace Dame Time
Adding more roster spots is, to me, a good idea. Adding more roster spots for players like Devin, Towns, Beal, Gobert, Carmelo is a great idea… Why n0t just one more spot on each team
