Suns guard Devin Booker has been selected to replace Anthony Davis as a Western Conference All-Star, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Booker was considered one of the most glaring All-Star snubs after averaging 24.7 points, 3.8 points and 4.3 assists through 26 games. His play has helped Phoenix rise to fourth place in the West at 20-10. This will be the second All-Star appearance for Booker, who was chosen as a reserve last season.

Davis is recovering from a strained right calf and isn’t expected to return for about four weeks.

Cp3 is the main reason they are in playoffs….booker is a bad defender and shoots a ton at a modest clip. 19 win shares 5 years in….for reference Davis had 48 win shares at that same time.

According to a table on the Ringer, the two best to never make the All Star Game are Jason Terry and Andre Miller with both slightly over 100. Conley is at 83 currently, good for 7th on the list but is the highest active player, so he could pass them before his career ends with another good season or two.
Of course the thing about stats is that they can always be manipulated to serve your argument, so I am sure there is one that calls Conley the best too.

There are only a few stats that really matter in basketball. Don’t over analyze. Stats are different for a D and O player. Then there are different type of players. Chemistry and managing a gm have no stats. The best test is the eye test. If you follow your team and really watch them. You already know more than you think. Booker came into L as one of youngest guys in draft. He was the 13th pick. Came in as a shooter. Well he’s basically put up 25 a gm for last 4 yrs. A shooter hitting over .50% FG is a great stat plus 4.3 ast. He’s not a gm manager. That’s why they got Chris. You think Suns win without Booker. They were best team in bubble last yr. Booker is an all star and he’s still getting better. Scary good.
Yes, PER and on-off. PER includes whichever “few [basic] stats that really matter”, and on-off shows how well the team does when the player is in.
