While Thunder GM Sam Presti is getting plenty of justifiable credit for the job he's done building the team, Heat president Pat Riley deserves some praise, too, for attracting marquee talent and surrounding it with enough to earn consecutive trips to the NBA Finals. As Luke Adams detailed yesterday in his look at how the Heat were built, every player on the roster has either signed a new deal or an extension within the past two years, which represents a lot of front-office legwork in a short amount of time. While Miami endures its fair share of criticism, plenty of teams wouldn't mind switching places, and there's news on a few trying to do just that.

- Hawks GM Rick Sund is still in talks with Hawks owners Bruce Levenson and Michael Gearon Jr. about his future with the team after his contract expires at the end of the month, Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Sund may remain as the team's GM or step into an advisory role, as previous reports have indicated. The 60-year-old has also beenlinked to the Sixers as a possible replacement for president of basketball operations Rod Thorn.
- Free agent Pape Sy is expected to join the Hawks summer league team, Cunningham tweets, also mentioning Sergiy Gladyr as a possibility for that squad. Gladyr was drafted 49th overall by the team in 2009, and is one of many international "draft and stash" players still awaiting their first NBA action.
