Patrick Williams is a great three and d player that can play SF PF and C… he’s one of the best defenders in this class and has a great three shot… he should fit in well with what the Bulls are doing…

Wow, the Wizards got a gift here. Deni was probably the perfect fit for their team , but I didn’t think there was any way at all for them to get him. If they can find a vet big man and not overpay him like they have done in the past, the Wall/Beal/Deni/Rui combo should be pretty good in the East.

I’d been labeling the international guys by where they were playing rather than where they’re from (ie. Ball as Australia rather than USA), but I could adjust that approach.
That makes sense. Just seemed most sites listed his nationality instead of his league. Given he’s an American born-French playing Germany, you could go a lot of ways.

I am a huge Kentucky fan, but to be honest I was never all that impressed with Maxey. He is not as bad a shooter as his numbers imply. The reason his percentages are low is because he took WAY too many ill-advised shots. He would drive 1 on 5 with his back to the basket and still shoot wild shots. They looked good when they went in, but more often than not it just looked really bad. I think Maxey is going to be more of a James Young or Archie Goodwin than a Jamal Murray. I hope he is a success, but I don’t really hold out a lot of hope for him.
Yeah I watched some times he was wild. But Knicks assistant coach from Kentucky swears by him. He thinks he’s another Wade. Same body type. I know he can score. Haven’t really watched him a lot. If Zi like someone I will watch him for wks lol

Unless you are talking about Wade Baldwin, there is no way Maxey is like Wade. He might like Dwyane Wade the same way that a lump of coal is like a diamond, so given a few million years or so, he might shine.
Not fond of Maxey on the Sixers either… it can be a grim group and he plays better happy I think. Well he could use some discipline and the Philly stars are large lol.
As for the DWade comparison… DWade has a much different personality, but the coach meant physically.
I think to an extant that it was too easy for him in college, given some apparently overly modest goals… like, he was just biding his time until the pros. That would be aggravating to a UK fan. The NBA should see more of an efficiency awareness. He can look like he’s just spinning his wheels.
It wasn’t just that. I am kind of used to the one and done thing. But Maxey was not the #1 recruit for the class, that was Kahlil Whitney (who will probably be working at Arby’s in 3 years). Anyway, Maxey parlayed a really great game early in the year into everyone thinking he was the superstar of the team. He wasn’t, but he played like he thought he was. His lack of discipline and poor shot selection is what bothered me about him more than anything. Those things are fixable, but I just don’t know if he has the mentality to do it.
I’m thinking Hampton or Tre Jones. Flynn would be okay too. Just take a PG.

I love how the ESPN crew is not considering any trades as official yet so they’re making no sense in the studio. Woj tells them that the Knicks traded for the 25th pick and they immediately start talking about how Quickley is going to fit in with Shai Gilgeous Alexander in OKC. Calipari had to set them all straight by saying ‘HE’S GOING TO THE KNICKS!’. Hilarious.
I’m not even bothering with ESPN. I am watching, or rather listening to, NBATV instead. You have to put up with Brendon Haywood which is unbearable at times and Steve Smith seems really sleepy for some reason, but the rest of guys are much better than their ESPN counterparts.

I understand their logic, but from an odds standpoint, what are the chances a trade gets rejected by the league? It’s got to be way lower than the chances it goes through. So I don’t really get why they keep talking about how picks will fit in on teams who have already traded them.

He went from being a disappointing afterthought in his freshman year to being the SEC player of the year as a sophomore. I honestly thought he would be one of the UK players that would transfer because they turned out to be not as good as their HS rankings thought. But he improved as much as anyone I have seen from a freshman to a sophomore except for PJ Washington.

I find it hard to believe that Chicago Bulls did a complete change of their management, then picked a 6’8” forward, who hasn’t started ONE college game, while averaging a paltry 9.2 points a game. New management, more of the same!

This Memphis fan certainly agrees. Bane should provide some instant offense off the bench and Tillman can spell either JJJ or Valanciunas as depth in the frontcourt
I like Tillman as a guy who can figure out how to work with Morant. Not sure but he seemed kind of solo. I thought Brooks could mesh but he’s not that good.
Back to back picks of guys named Cassius. That hasn’t since the Italian Gladiator Draft of 223 AD in ancient Rome.
Anyone else frustrated the entire 2nd round is consistently interrupted by commercials? I want to hear them talk about the picks being made! Finding out Cassius Stanley has been drafted with an Arby’s commercial in the background isn’t what I envisioned.
On NBATV it just seemed like even the first round picks were just something that happened to interrupt their interviews. I think I enjoyed the coverage here more. Especially the 2nd round.
Now let’s see who gets Jay Scrubb as undrafted to come in and play. I certainly would invite him.

It’s good to see the Rockets adding someone, although it’s unlikely a 2nd round pick will make much of an impact his rookie season. Although being the son of a former #1 overall pick maybe he can play significant minutes if things go well.
