The Clippers and Knicks are among the teams interested in Pistons point guard Derrick Rose, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.
There’s no indication of Detroit’s willingness to include Rose, 32, in a deal before the March 25 trade deadline, though the team did use its No. 7 pick to select guard Killian Hayes in last year’s NBA draft.
Hayes is expected to miss at least seven or eight more weeks due to right hip subluxation, but Rose continues to come off the bench for the Pistons. He missed Monday’s game with soreness, as starter Delon Wright finished with 28 points and nine assists.
Rose is in his second season with Detroit, coming off a campaign that saw him average 18.1 points and 5.6 assists per game in 50 contests. He shot a career-high 49% for the season, mostly playing off the bench in 26 minutes per game.
The Clippers could use another creator alongside Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, having failed to upgrade their point guard position during the offseason. The team did add veterans Nicolas Batum and Serge Ibaka to improve its creation, ball movement and floor-spacing. Rose met with the franchise in free agency after it traded away Chris Paul three-and-a-half years ago.
New York also has some familiarity with Rose, as the former Most Valuable Player spent a full season with the team in 2016/17. Head coach Tom Thibodeau also coached Rose with Chicago from 2010-16 and then again with Minnesota from 2017-19.

Rose in 2021 is much closer to Ice Cube’s Big 3 than an NBA Big 3. He’s a decent veteran addition, but he is not moving the needle that much anymore.

tbh with wright improving on offense and ellington scorching hot on shooting and grant playing like an allstar i dont see how rose will get a chance in the rotation. besides hayes may return soon. rose will be a good fit with the clippers cuz beverley is out.

Literally anyone is an upgrade from DSJ and Frankie, which is why neither of them play any significant minutes.
You do know they haven’t even played this yr. Payton is our PG. I bet you Pistons take Nttilikina. I like Rose and he would help as vet. But I rather go for younger talent. I don’t know how it gets done. Rose should go to Clippers. He helps them immensely. Probably helps get them to Finals.

Knicks need to trade Mavs 1st rd pick, dennis smith Jr, to pelicans for Ball. thats the PG of the future…him with barrett, mitch, IQ, could be a young core for a long time. and solves the knicks looking for a point guard for many years, im not saying Ball is the best, but hes worth giving that package up

I think the Pelicans are not willing to match an offer, whereas the Knicks will probably match whichever offer he gets.
Lonzo Ball is trash. Do you even watch basketball? The selfish the Ball boys play with is unparalleled. The rhythm and flow of the offense is killed by their non sensical dribbling. Neither move with a purpose.
Ball may be trash, but the package they listed to trade for him is not exactly a good one. Maybe the pick ends up being good (I doubt it and think it’ll be mid-round, possibly late round), but DSJ is one of the worst players in the league.
The notion that Lonzo Ball is the pg of the future is good for a chuckle at best.

He was literally the guy I thought of a couple of days ago as the person who would be the clearest signal that the Kicks are heading in the wrong direction.
If you want Rose, here are the acceptable compensation tiers. I’ll take…
1) a first rounder (late first – I understand). If that’s not available, I’ll take…
2) an early second rounder. If that’s not available, I’ll take….
3) a high-upside youngster. If that’s not available, I’ll take…
4) expiring contracts (but you also have to take Rodney McGruder!)

You want a 1st rd send Griffin to OKC. In three way they can move Horford and you probably get 2 first rd picks.
I was thinking maybe Blake for Horford and a 1st or Pick Swap. But honestly I think that is the only possible trade Griffin will get.

Clippers fit does not make sense. I mean how would backup guards rose, Jackson, and Williams fit? D-rose would have to replace one of those.

Send Rose to the warriors, pacers, spurs, raptors, blazers, pelicans, or suns, those are teams that need a bench bucket getter!
by throwing in beverly, williams, and mann for rose and prob bey if possible. beverly will provide solid defense and williams is a solid shooter
btw raptors are already loaded with shooting in rookie flynn, lowry, and have way too many guards and little depth in the frontcourt. pacers already have a future all star in brogdan, suns have a loaded bench of galloway, moore, carter, and ty shon alexander, warriors are looking forward to get their old buddy lin back for a potential playoff
