Draft Workouts: Lakers, Simons, Wizards, Nuggets

While the Lakers don’t hold their own first-round pick in this year’s draft, the club is currently armed with a pair of selections at 25th and 47th overall, and is doing its due diligence on potential selections. One prospect earning a look from Los Angeles is Duke guard Gary Trent Jr., who will work out for the club on Wednesday, per Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News (Twitter link).

Before they bring in Trent, the Lakers will work out six prospects on Tuesday, according to a team release. Emmett Naar (St. Mary’s), Barry Brown (Kansas State), Fletcher Magee (Wofford), Gabe DeVoe (Clemson), Duncan Robinson (Michigan), and Obi Enechionyia (Temple) are auditioning for L.A.

Just watching the scrimmage… DiVincenzo looks great. Want to see some of Simons, not seeing any footage.

Would love the Sixers to get Jevon Carter in the 2nd, dude is a pitbull.

Wonder if anyone uses a 2nd on Kostas, the Freak’s lil bro.

Frankie Vision on youtube seems to have the scrimmage broken down well.

Love it that the Lakers are looking at Trent Jr. and hoping they will look at/consider Billy Preston Jr.

    • Billy is gonna be a sleeper in this draft. Very raw but has great skills and athleticism for a someone with his size and length.

  3. Just wondering when this guys work out for a team, without an agent so they have the chance to go back to college, who pays for their trips to the cities where the workouts happen, them or the teams? & if it is the teams, can they go back to college? Or is it considered payment? Can anyone clarify this for me please?
